Football Game Preview: Jenkins Warriors vs. Peach County Trojans + Official Tickets

Two dominant backs in Dominique Johnson and Ashton Barton are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Jenkins Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Peach County Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jenkins knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Peach County likes a good challenge.

Jenkins is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They snuck past Whitewater with a 50-45 victory.

Meanwhile, Peach County made easy work of Cherokee Bluff on Friday and carried off a 53-28 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Peach County found their leader in sophomore Barton, who rushed for 253 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Samuel Sands also set a new season-high mark in passing touchdowns with four. Another player making a difference was Cameron Cherry, who picked up 40 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Peach County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 281 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards in nine consecutive games.

Peach County's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Jenkins, their win bumped their record up to an identical 10-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Jenkins has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 244.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Peach County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 223.5 rushing yards.
