Baseball Recap: Sanderson Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sanderson and Enloe meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Spartans took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Sanderson saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was GAINES STALLWORTH, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. STALLWORTH also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Sanderson's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Enloe, they moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Sanderson will square off against Vance County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Enloe will be paying especially close attention to the Spartans' game: after the Spartans faces off against the Vipers, they'll take on Enloe again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
