Baseball Recap: West Branch's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

West Branch had lost six games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-16 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Struthers Wildcats as they made off with a 15-3 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Warriors' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

As for Struthers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

For Struthers' part, Anthony Pastella made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. The Wildcats are 2-1 when Pastella posts two or more runs, but 5-17 otherwise.

Looking ahead, West Branch will take on Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Struthers, they will welcome Beaver Local at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
