Recap: Prairie View Buffalos vs. Anderson County Bulldogs
The Prairie View Buffalos lost against the Anderson County Bulldogs back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Prairie View's rough 52-29 loss to the Bulldogs might stick with them for a while. Prairie View has not had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Prairie View's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Fleer, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Joseph Sramek, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
It was another big night for Noah Porter, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds for Anderson County. That makes it three consecutive games in which Porter has scored at least a third of Anderson County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of A.j. Hawkins, who scored eight points.
Prairie View's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Anderson County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie View will play host again and welcome the Wildcats, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Monday. Burlington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully the Buffalos likes a good challenge. As for Anderson County, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Central Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Saturday.
