Basketball Recap: Rise Academy Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

With a playoff win on the line, Rise Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Hampton Christian Academy Warriors with a sharp 85-65 victory. The Guardians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Devonte Atkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 27 points. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Seaborn, who posted 18 points.

Despite the loss, Hampton Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Asher Joyce, who put up 25 points. The dominant performance gave Joyce a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Fullwood, who had 13 points.

Rise Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.2 points over those games. Hampton Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-12.

Rise Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-56 defeat against Stuart Hall on the 1st. Hampton Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
