Recap: Greencastle Tiger Cubs vs. Linton-Stockton Miners
After a string of eight wins, The Greencastle Tiger Cubs''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Linton-Stockton by a score of 26-23.
Greencastle's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Lamar Moore, who rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Moore hasn't dropped below sixsolo tackles for four straight games. Owen Huff was in the mix too, providing Greencastle with two touchdowns.
Linton-Stockton found their leader in underclassman Paul Oliver, who rushed for 196 yards.
Greencastle's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Linton-Stockton, their win was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-1.
Greencastle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Linton-Stockton will be playing at home against Southmont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
