Basketball Recap: Keystone Comes Up Short

Keystone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Live Oak Classical Falcons and fell 63-23. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cobras this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-11 back in January.

Live Oak Classical found their leader in freshman Ashlyn Helton, who went 7 for 15 en route to 18 points and four steals. Stella Sriram was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Keystone's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Live Oak Classical, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-6.

Keystone will look to defend their home court on Friday against Central Texas Christian at 6:00 p.m. Central Texas Christian's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Keystone's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Live Oak Classical, they will challenge Faith Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
