Basketball Recap: Bloom-Carroll Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bloom-Carroll extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Whitney Passen. The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs strolled past the Amanda-Clearcreek Aces with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 60-44 thanks in part to Passen, who went 7 of 15 en route to 23 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Emma Sorrell, who posted eight points and 12 boards. Sorrell is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season.

Bloom-Carroll has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 30.5% in those games and 25.7% outside of them. As for Amanda-Clearcreek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bloom-Carroll will square off against Pickerington North at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bloom-Carroll knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Pickerington North likes a good challenge. Amanda-Clearcreek has already played their next matchup (against Watkins Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
