Basketball Recap: Monsignor Pace Takes Down Carol City in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Monsignor Pace rose to the challenge on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Carol City Chiefs 63-6. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Evelyn Cortes continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Monsignor Pace's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Carrasco, who went 7 for 11 en route to 18 points and five steals.

Monsignor Pace is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Carol City, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

As of now, neither Monsignor Pace nor Carol City have any future games scheduled.
