Baseball Recap: Waterville Takes a Loss

Waterville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Non Varsity Opponent, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Shockers fell just short of Non Varsity Opponent by a score of 12-10 on Monday. The Shockers haven't had much luck with Non Varsity Opponent recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Branson Barnes led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Fletcher, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Waterville's loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Non Varsity Opponent has already played their next match (against Highland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Waterville will be paying especially close attention to Non Varsity Opponent's game: after Non Varsity Opponent face off against North Shore Country Day, they'll take on Waterville again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
