Baseball Recap: Crosbyton Comes Up Short

Crosbyton is still winless after their contest against Borden County on Saturday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Borden County Coyotes. If the Chiefs were looking for revenge after losing 21-11 to the Coyotes when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Miah Marquez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Nolan Salazar was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Crosbyton's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Borden County, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crosbyton will welcome Trinity Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Borden County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Hamlin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
