Volleyball Recap: Green Falls Despite Big Games from Isabelle Dennis and Molly Collinsworth

Green was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Perry Panthers. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Green started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-27, 25-21, 25-17, 15-11.

Molly Collinsworth and Isabelle Dennis certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Collinsworth had nine digs and two aces, while Dennis had 15 digs. McKenna Eckard was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Meryah White was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 24 assists and six digs. That's the most assists she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Green's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Perry, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Green has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Lake on the 23rd. As for Perry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against McKinley on the 23rd.
