Basketball Recap: Grayson Christian Falls to Howe in First Game of Season

Grayson Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost to the Howe Bulldogs on the road by a 50-31 margin on Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Grayson Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jacey Doonan dropped a double-double with 11 points and 23 rebounds. Doonan has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. Taetym Doonan was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Howe's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.

Grayson Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wolfe City at 8:30 a.m. on the 24th. As for Howe, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-34 win against Community on the 14th.
