Basketball Recap: Maple River Takes a Loss

Maple River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Maple River's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-3.

Maple River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-49 win against Hillsboro/Central Valley on the 19th. As for Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Madelia at 1:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
