Football Game Preview: Timberland vs. Fort Zumwalt South

On Friday Timberland take on Fort Zumwalt South at 7:00 PM. The match looks good for Timberland since they are the big favorites in the MaxPreps state rankings.

Timberland had a rough outing against Eureka two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Timberland had just enough and edged out Holt 30-28. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (27) and coasted on those for the win.

Fort Zumwalt South won against Howell Central with 37 points, and Fort Zumwalt South decided to stick to that point total again last Friday. Fort Zumwalt South were the clear victor by a 37-7 margin over Howell North. The success made it back-to-back wins for Fort Zumwalt South.

Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-1. In Timberland's victory, senior Cole Martin punched in 2 rushing TDs and accumulated 171 passing yards and junior Jarrett Wilson rushed for 176 yards and 1 touchdown. We'll see if Fort Zumwalt South have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
