Basketball Game Preview: Intermountain Christian Lions vs. Rockwell Marshals

The Intermountain Christian Lions will face off against the Rockwell Marshals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Intermountain Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Vanguard Academy 62-32 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Intermountain Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elaine Lunsford, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Lunsford has become a key player for Intermountain Christian: the team is 8-1 when she posts at least ten boards, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Frazee, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Intermountain Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Rockwell over American Prep WV in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Rockwell blew American Prep WV out of the water with a 45-5 final score. With the Marshals ahead 32-3 at the half, the game was all but over already.

The win (which was Rockwell's third in a row) raised their record to 6-11. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.7 points per game. As for Intermountain Christian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4.
