Recap: Columbia Tigers vs. St. Augustine Yellow Jackets
The Columbia Tigers lost against the St. Augustine Yellow Jackets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Columbia took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Augustine. Columbia has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Columbia lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being AYESHA BROXEY, who scored 15 points along with two steals. BROXEY has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JOLENA GARDNER, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for St. Augustine, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
Columbia's road trip will continue as they head out to face Trinity Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Trinity Catholic will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. St. Augustine will take on ED White at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. ED White will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 241st, while St. Augustine is ranked 67th).
