Basketball Recap: Westampton Tech Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Westampton Tech took on Medford Tech on Friday. The Westampton Tech Panthers fell 72-60 to the Medford Tech Jaguars. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Jaguars earlier this season, when they won 53-51.

Despite the loss, Westampton Tech still got an impressive performance from Jason Livingstone, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Livingstone a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Daelan Dickerson, who went 8 of 15 en route to 23 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Westampton Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Nesta Rice continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Medford Tech, going 9 for 20 to rack up 25 points and five boards. Rice's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Branson, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Westampton Tech's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Medford Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Looking ahead, Westampton Tech will take on Trenton Catholic Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Medford Tech, they have already played their next contest, a 53-48 victory against Pemberton on the 8th.
