Baseball Recap: Archbishop Mccarthy Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

It's playoff time, and Archbishop McCarthy had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Varela Vipers by a score of 8-4 on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Mavericks: when they faced off against the Vipers on Wednesday, they had to take a 8-7 loss.

Zachary Tavarez tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Archbishop McCarthy got a massive performance out of German Ferreira, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Ferreira has posted since back in April. Caden Coleman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
