Softball Recap: Southeastern Gets the Win

Southeastern's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Westfall Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Panthers: when they faced off against the Mustangs two weeks ago, they had to take a 12-1 loss.

Kylie Williams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Jade Turner was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

Southeastern's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Westfall, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Southeastern is set to take on their familiar foe Adena at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Westfall will face off against rival Unioto at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
