Baseball Recap: Vienna Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Vienna was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They fell just short of the Century Centurions by a score of 4-2. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Centurions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Vienna saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Ethridge, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The loss snapped Vienna's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-5 record. As for Century, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Vienna will head out to face off against Johnston City at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Century, they will be playing at home against Varsity Opponent at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
