Sexton won the last time they faced Lakewood and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Sexton Big Reds came out on top against the Lakewood Vikings by a score of 56-44. Given the Big Reds' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th in Michigan, while the Vikings are ranked 531st in Michigan), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sexton is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points over those games. Lakewood has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Sexton will face off against Lansing Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lansing Catholic will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Sexton surely won't give up without a fight. Lakewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
