Georgia quarterback throws for 522 yards, six touchdowns and loses

Dawson outdone by Colquitt County running back who rushes for 367 yards and five TDs; A 54-yard field goal gives Dutchtown victory over Glynn Acacemy.

King (Lithonia, Ga.) sustained a 48-47 loss to Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.) during Class AAAAA state football playoff action on Friday night despite a heroic effort by junior quarterback Jonquel Dawson.

The 5-foot-9, 190-pounder passed for 522 yards and six touchdowns. Five of his scoring strikes went to senior wide receiver Demarco Robinson (6-0, 175).

Meanwhile diminutive senior Tevin King (5-6, 148) paced the winners by rushing for 367 yards and five touchdowns.
 
* In a Class AAAA playoff game, Dutchtown (Hampton, Ga.) nipped Glynn Academy (Brunswick, Ga.), 3-0, on a 54-yard field goal in the first half by senior Ryan Kay.
