Softball Preview: Darlington Tigers vs. Armuchee Indians

Darlington is 2-8 against Armuchee since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Darlington Tigers will welcome the Armuchee Indians at 5:00 p.m.

Darlington is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Haralson County, falling 11-3.

Armuchee never got on the board in their matchup on Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Christian Heritage on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-7 victory. Considering the Indians have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Armuchee got a massive performance out of Gabi Stinson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Arp, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-5.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Armuchee didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in August.

Darlington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Armuchee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.
