Volleyball Recap: Jim Thorpe Falls Despite Big Games from Maura Malaska and Jaylah Yeakel

Jim Thorpe lost against Southern Lehigh back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Olympians lost 3-0 to the Spartans. The Olympians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-12, 25-16.

Jim Thorpe's loss came despite strong showings from Jaylah Yeakel and Maura Malaska. Yeakel had ten digs and seven kills, while Malaska had 16 assists and five digs. Malaska is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Jim Thorpe's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Southern Lehigh, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 10-0-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jim Thorpe will take on rival Notre Dame-Green Pond at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Southern Lehigh is set to square off against their familiar foe Northwestern Lehigh at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
