Baseball Game Preview: South Medford Panthers vs. West Salem Titans

The South Medford Panthers will face off against the West Salem Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in South Medford's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while West Salem has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

South Medford's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Willamette by a score of 5-0.

Not much got past Jake Lewis, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Willamette off the board. Lewis also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Medford is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, South Medford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Leavens, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Grady McQuillan, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, West Salem came up short against South Salem on Friday and fell 11-7.

West Salem's loss dropped their record down to 8-16. As for South Medford, their victory bumped their record up to 14-11.

South Medford skirted past West Salem 7-5 in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
