Softball Game Preview: Lamar Tigers vs. Exeter Tigers

Lamar will head out to challenge Exeter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Monday. Lamar fell 13-10 to Stockton. Lamar's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Peyton Eddie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Maylee Rawlings, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Exeter's offense. They lost 16-0 to Lockwood on Monday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, Exeter's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Exeter's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12. As for Lamar, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Lamar skirted past Exeter 15-14 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lamar since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
