Basketball Recap: Kaegan Ash's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mt. Enterprise over Alto

Mt. Enterprise fought the good fight in their overtime match against Alto on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Alto Yellowjackets by a score of 59-57. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-53 back in January.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaegan Ash, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards. Ash's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Tracey Thompson, who posted seven points along with 16 rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Mt. Enterprise smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive games.

Mt. Enterprise dropped their record down to 6-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Alto, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Mt. Enterprise does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alto, they will take on Douglass at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Alto has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 225 points over their last three matches.
