Basketball Recap: Brayden Pando's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kermit over Anthony

Kermit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 61-52 to the Anthony Wildcats. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Kermit lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brayden Pando, who posted 15 points. Diego Juarez was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Kermit's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Anthony, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kermit will venture away from home to square off against Tornillo at 8:00 p.m. on January 31st. Kermit is facing Tornillo at the right time seeing as Tornillo is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Anthony, they will head out to face off against Presidio at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Presidio's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
