Baseball Game Preview: Myrtle Beach Seahawks vs. Socastee Braves

For the second straight game, Myrtle Beach will face off against Socastee. The Seahawks will be playing at home against the Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Myrtle Beach's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Socastee's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Myrtle Beach's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Socastee with a sharp 7-0 win. The Seahawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Sinclair Bolick's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Myrtle Beach is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Gibson Goodroe was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Byron Cooksey was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Myrtle Beach's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-10. As for Socastee, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.
