Recap: Otsego Knights vs. Maumee Panthers

The Otsego Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 45-26 fall against Maumee. If Otsego hoped to take revenge for the 32-22 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.

Despite the defeat, Otsego saw an underclassman step up: Ryleigh O?brien scored four points along with two steals.

Otsego struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.

Otsego bumped their record down to 2-13 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Maumee, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Otsego will head out on the road to take on Genoa Area at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Genoa Area presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Otsego in Ohio (Genoa Area is ranked 354th, while Otsego is ranked 758th). As for Maumee, they will be playing at home against Fostoria at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fostoria has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Maumee will arrive with three straight wins.
