South Vermillion hasn't had much luck against Sullivan recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will welcome the Golden Arrows at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, South Vermillion put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 32-13 victory over Attica. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Red Ramblers: they've now won six in a row.
South Vermillion found their leader in sophomore Ben Shryock, who rushed for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 206 yards and two TDs. Colton Robertson was another key player, rushing for 81 yards and one score.
One reason for the win was South Vermillion's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Colton Minnett was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Meanwhile, Sullivan humbled West Vigo with a 70-7 victory. Considering the Golden Arrows have won five contests by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
South Vermillion better keep an eye on Clark French. He was instrumental in Sullivan's win, rushing for 190 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. French's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 149 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Grise, who threw for 85 yards and three TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing.
Sullivan was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 377 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Sullivan's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for South Vermillion, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
South Vermillion took a serious blow against Sullivan when the teams last played back in August, falling 56-7. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Golden Arrows' Zane Catlin, who rushed for 82 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 43 receiving yards and one touchdown. Now that the Wildcats know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
