Basketball Recap: Ocracoke Comes Up Short

Ocracoke was the 51-20 winner over Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dolphins took a 32-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Griffins on Friday.

Jami Martinez was Ocracoke's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth 'Lindy' Jones, who posted six points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in assists (three). Claire Donohue was another key player, putting up seven points.

Ocracoke's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Ocracoke will face off against East Carteret at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech, they will take on Camden County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
