Volleyball Recap: Lathrop's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Lathrop had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Quarry Lane Cougars.

Lathrop got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ayden Petroff out in front who had four aces, three digs, and two blocks. Petroff has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Justine Mabutas, who had 12 digs.

They weren't the only good servers: Lathrop was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last six matchups.

Lathrop's record now sits at 18-6. As for Quarry Lane, their loss dropped their record down to 24-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lathrop will face off against Johansen at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Quarry Lane, they will take on California School for the Deaf at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
