After low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Alton brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Winona Wildcats a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Alton's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Winona, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.

Alton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winona, they will take on East Carter at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Redbirds' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
