Softball Game Preview: Eastern Eagles vs. Southern Tornadoes

Eastern is 1-9 against Southern since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Tornadoes at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eastern 3.7, Southern 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Eastern managed to slip by Unioto the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Eagles lost 14-7 to the Shermans on Tuesday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this game were averaging 3.68 runs allowed.

Eastern saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenleigh Bapst, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lynnleigh McCollister was another, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Southern didn't have quite enough to beat Wellston on Thursday and fell 7-6. The Tornadoes have struggled against the Golden Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Southern's loss dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Eastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-7.
