Baseball Recap: Elkhart Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Elkhart Christian Academy had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-15 to make it five. They lost 14-2 to South Bend Adams. If Elkhart Christian Academy was looking for revenge after losing 15-1 to South Bend Adams when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

James Ramirez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

As for South Bend Adams, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-18 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games.

On South Bend Adams' side, DAVID ASCANIO looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. South Bend Adams is 2-1 when ASCANIO allows one or fewer earned runs, but 4-17 otherwise.

At the plate, AIDAN MICINSKI was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He also got three hits, which is notable because South Bend Adams is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 3-18 otherwise. Another player making a difference was BROCK STULTZ, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles.

Coming up, Elkhart Christian Academy will host Hamilton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Bend Adams, they will challenge Elkhart at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
