Volleyball Game Preview: Mogadore Wildcats vs. Independence Blue Devils

The Mogadore Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Independence Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Mogadore is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Mogadore duked it out with Springfield on Thursday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Tigers.

While Mogadore won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-14, 25-22.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Independence had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on Columbia with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Independence was: they took every set by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-8, 25-8.

Mogadore better keep an eye on Madelyn Mudra. She was instrumental in Independence's win, getting nine aces and eight digs. Those nine aces gave Mudra a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sofia Pichert, who had ten digs and two assists.

Independence was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in six consecutive matches.

Mogadore's record is now 17-6. As for Independence, their record now sits at 16-6.
