Baseball Game Preview: Altamont Longhorns vs. Tintic Miners

For the second straight game, Altamont will face off against Tintic. The Longhorns will head out on the road to take on the Miners at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Altamont is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

Altamont will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Friday, then bounced right back against Tintic on Friday. The Longhorns blew past the Miners 13-6. Considering the Longhorns have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Levi Scott made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Scott was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, Altamont got a massive performance out of Keaton Huff, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Colt Duncan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Altamont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tintic only posted a batting average of .200.

Altamont is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tintic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
