Baseball Recap: Dunnellon Takes a Loss

After flying high against West Port last Tuesday, Dunnellon came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Trinity Catholic Celtics by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Celtics this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-1 back in March.

Gavin Whitehead was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Dunnellon's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Trinity Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-16.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Dunnellon will challenge Citrus at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trinity Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Crescent City at 6:00 p.m.
