Baseball Recap: Western Brown Drops Season-High Score on Clermont Northeastern

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Beechwood, Western Brown was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Clermont Northeastern Rockets. The Broncos' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Aiden Jetter made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Carter Saylor was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Western Brown is 3-1 when Saylor posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was William Stewart, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

Western Brown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clermont Northeastern only posted an OBP of .316.

The victory got Western Brown back to even at 7-7. As for Clermont Northeastern, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Western Brown will welcome Reading at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will venture away from home to take on Mariemont at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
