Basketball Recap: Sasha Alaffita's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bunn over Nash Central

Bunn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 54-33 to the Nash Central Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 42-32 loss last Monday.

Bunn's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sasha Alaffita, who posted nine points. Those nine points gave Alaffita a new career-high.

Nash Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JaKayla Gay led the charge by dropping a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Gay has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Marquasia Warren was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 14 points and five steals.

Bunn's loss dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Nash Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Bunn nor Nash Central have any future games scheduled.
