Volleyball Recap: Kouts Takes a Loss

Kouts lost against Illiana Christian back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mustangs & Fillies fell 3-1 to the Vikings. The Mustangs & Fillies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kouts started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-14, 25-18, 24-14.

Jake Boomer paced Kouts' offense, picking up 14 kills. Boomer got some help from Gavin DeYoung and his 22 assists.

Kouts' loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Illiana Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Kouts will square off against Crown Point at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Illiana Christian, they will take on Boone Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
