Football Recap: Vincent Skates Past Greene County with Ease + How To Watch

Vincent extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 7-2. They took their game with ease, bagging a 38-8 win over the Greene County Tigers. Considering the Yellow Jackets have won five contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Roberts was his usual excellent self, rushing for 180 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August. Jay Posey made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Vincent's run defense was locked in: Greene County could only muster 0.6 yards per carry. While one picked up at least four total tackles, Roberts stood above the rest. He rushed for 180 yards and two scores. Vincent didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.9.

Vincent didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cayden Carroll and Posey. Carroll is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least eight every time he's taken the field this season. Posey got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

As for Greene County, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Despite the loss, Greene County still got an impressive performance from Chance Richardson, who picked up 117 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Vincent will venture away from home to challenge Montevallo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.11 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Greene County, they will head out to take on Pickens Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
