Basketball Game Preview: South Anchorage Wolverines vs. Service Cougars

The South Anchorage Wolverines will challenge the Service Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Thursday, South Anchorage was able to grind out a solid win over Bartlett, taking the game 58-47.

Meanwhile, Service came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 78-55 margin over the Mustangs. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Mustangs are ranked 61st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Anchorage's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-11. As for Service, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7.
