Manteno fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Herscher on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 11-6 to the Tigers. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Jake Stevens was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double. Maddoz Toepper was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Manteno's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Herscher, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
