Baseball Recap: St. Thomas Aquinas Comes Up Short

St. Thomas Aquinas and Southridge squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but St. Thomas Aquinas had to settle for second. They lost 12-4 to the Spartans. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Raiders, who until this contest were averaging 3.97 runs allowed.

Brady Buxbaum made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run.

St. Thomas Aquinas' loss dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Southridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

While St. Thomas Aquinas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
