Basketball Recap: Candlelight Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Geneva Classical Academy last Friday, Candlelight Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Candlelight Christian Academy Flames were dealt a 57-25 loss at the hands of the Excel Christian Academy Spartans on Monday. The Flames were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-9.

Leishka Reyes was Candlelight Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Reyes also led the team in rebounds with six. Skyler Taylor took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Candlelight Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Excel Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Candlelight Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Hardee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Excel Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Potter's House Christian at 5:30 p.m. on December 17th.
