Recap: Gray's Creek Bears vs. South View Tigers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cape Fear Christian Academy, the Gray's Creek Bears were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They secured a 50-45 W over South View. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Gray's Creek also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Gray's Creek found their leader in underclassman Zeek Reed, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Jones, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
South View lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chase Evans, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Evans hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Anthony Farrior, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Gray's Creek's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for South View, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-6.
Gray's Creek will head out on the road to face off against Jack Britt at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jack Britt has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for South View, they will be playing at home against Cape Fear at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Cape Fear focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
