Basketball Game Preview: Cactus Cobras vs. Deer Valley Skyhawks

The Cactus Cobras and the Deer Valley Skyhawks will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Cactus is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They managed a 76-72 victory over Estrella Foothills on Tuesday. The Cobras haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Deer Valley waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Owls 90-44. Given the Skyhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while the Owls are ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Deer Valley pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points over those games. As for Cactus, their win bumped their record up to 7-16.

Cactus was taken down by Deer Valley 87-34 in their previous meeting back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cactus was down 54-12.
